According to the latest state of country divisions in 2013, Qazvin province has 6 cities, 25 cities, 19 districts, 46 villages and 1148 villages. Tehran-Karaj-Qazvin and Qazvin-Zanjan highways connect this province to North, West and Tehran provinces. The northwest railway of the country also passes through Qazvin. The transit and very important road of Iran-Europe and Tehran-Isfahan-Shiraz also pass through the city of Qazvin.

Before the victory of the Islamic Revolution and before 1377, the Soil Technical and Mechanical Laboratory provided quality control services as a branch under the supervision of Tehran and Zanjan provinces, and since 1977, with the establishment of Qazvin province, the laboratory has started its activity as a provincial management. And despite the limited experience, it has seen significant progress in various sectors, which after the construction of the building to carry out laboratory activities and regulatory affairs, played a great role in improving the quality of construction projects.
