A group of employees of the soil technical and mechanical laboratory of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad province, including a team of 8 climbers, managed to climb Shirkuh peak in Yazd in 2 days.

Shirkoh is a peak in Taft city, one of Yazd provinces. Shirkoh peak is one of the 1,515 most prominent peaks in the world. Although it is mentioned in terms of the division of individual mountains of Iran, it is actually a part of the central mountain range. The height of its highest point is about 4,075 meters above the open water level.

Shirkouh peak in Yazd has three main routes to climb. The choice of each of these routes depends on the goal and desires of the mountaineer and his climbing experience and skill.

Shirkoh is often covered with snow and ice in winter and supplies water to a large part of Yazd province. Due to its proximity to the desert, this peak has strong and dry winds on some days of the year. Although in terms of division, Shirkoh mountain is mentioned as one of the individual mountains of Iran, but in fact it is a part of the Zagros mountain range.

In order to develop and promote the culture of public health and sports, as well as to strengthen the spirit and body, a group of employees of the technical and mechanical soil laboratory of Kohgiluyeh province and Boir Ahmad climbed to the peak of Shir Kooh Yazd in Taft city at an altitude of 4075.

8 members of Mohammad Hosseinpour, Seyed Issa Lahoti, Ali Karam Alipour, Sidsham Ahmadi, Mehdi Ahmadi, Afshin Masihpour, Mehdi Shafiian and Haj Hassan Hashemi Tabar were present in this climb.

This action was in line with the culture and promotion of mountaineering and trekking along with the enthusiasm of this 8-person team.
