This book has five chapters. In the first chapter, in addition to giving a general statement about the types of penetration tests, the general characteristics of the dynamic cone penetrometer (DCP device) are mentioned, and the history of this device and its evolution over time are explained. General explanations regarding the methods of presenting and analyzing DCP test data and stating the fields of application and advantages and disadvantages of this test are other important contents of the first chapter. The second chapter is dedicated to the complete description of the DCP test method (according to ASTM standard D6951) and the important implementation points related to this test that are not mentioned in the standard. In the final part of this chapter, some information has been stated about the variability of DCP test data and errors and the required frequency of DCP test in the construction study program. The third chapter, which is the longest chapter of the book, describes the most important application areas of DCP testing in seven parts. In the fourth chapter, the most important factors affecting the results of the DCP test are discussed and finally, in the fifth and final chapter of the book, the study of the theory of cone dynamic penetration test and the analytical models presented for this test is discussed.
